"Our current economic path is coming to an end. Where we go when we reach this inflection point - toward renewed growth and prosperity, or toward increased malaise and financial chaos - is not pre-destined. It is up to us; to our assessment of the situation and our actions, both as individuals and collectively. Now El-Erian, one of the most influential and highly regarded thinkers in the world, provides us with a diagnosis and roadmap to understanding where we are today, how and why our central banks have become the essential actors in the current global economy, but cannot remain so, and where we can - indeed, should and must - go from here as individual investors, households, economies, societies, and governments"-- Provided by publisher.

Overly wordy and long, the whole book could be an essay. No great insights in it.

Not impressed by this book, period, other than a few apt quotes.

The book with the Official Stamp of Approved Garbage! El-Erian belongs to the usual major organizations which front for the global banking cartel: Peterson Institute, Bretton Woods Committee, et cetera, and has long espoused their propaganda. If you wish to waste time and be none the wiser, pay attention to the guy who worships Larry Summers, Robert Rubin and Hank Greenberg. [Fitting that Jack Welch and Summers blurbed his pathetic book.]

"So what do we do? Something. So long as we just don't sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we've4 satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late." - Lee Iacocca
