After his father's death, Kale Brecht becomes a sullen, withdrawn, and troubled young man. He finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest after a run in with the law. His mother, Julie, works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with Kale's indifference and lethargy. As the walls of his house begin to close in on Kale, he turns into a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home towards those of his neighbors. Slowly, Kale begins to suspect his neighbor is a serial killer.

Directed by D. J. Caruso in 2007, this American horror-thriller depicts a detective work of a peeping Tom who begins to spy on his neighbors, thinking one of them is a serial killer.
Although amusing, the film is basically for kids.
For grownups, it appears childish with a lot of playful and gratuitous red herrings.

This movie thriller is very predictable. To young actors for this thriller moving. Something doesn't fit . The story can be interesting but not credible acting to me. I watched it but won't be interested to see it again.

Surprisingly good flick. Morse is excellent as the creepy bad guy (this is not much of a spoiler, so if your upset, sorry). Not a big LaBouf fan, but he did keep my interest. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it again, but wouldn't decline a showing if it was offered.

This movie remindes me of one of my favorate Alfred Hitchcock movies, REAR WINDOW. Hitchcock would be proud.

This was an excellent film. It was suspenseful, romantic and funny. Shia LaBeouf gives an outstanding performance as the angry teenager. David Morse did a good job as the bad guy. The friend was good, too.
