This is a very good book. It is on my list of books to read from a book club I recently joined and I must say that I could not put it down.

Maybe I am being pedantic, but I think this writer needs an older editor with knowledge of history. Pantyhose were not around in the 1940's. The did not appear until the 60's. Also the US did not drag allies into WW II. The allies were fighting for more than two years before the US entered the war. Otherwise it was an ok story...some good writing and some poor.

Excellent, informative, emotional. Bernice McFadden is consistently one of my favorite writers and here she works her usual magic, telling an intricate story about WWI, the Jazz age, Nazi Germany, the civil rights movement, and beyond. Great historical fiction that will move you deeply.
