I quite enjoyed reading this book and during the reading learned a little about bees. The story was about family dynamics and a well held secret.

This struck a reasonable balance between mostly-happy-endings in character-driven fiction and including content that keeps the reader thinking after the book is read. If it would bother you to have significant plot points hinge on coincidence or to have an entire cast of characters who are exceptionally good-looking, then you might want to pass. I enjoyed the historical angle and have continued to think about the ethical dilemmas presented and the concept of overcoming the coping mechanisms we've created in response to earlier trauma.

A must summer read. I looked forward to the epigraph (the information at the beginning of a chapter) about bees from Ned Bloodworth’s beekeeper’s journal. When I get engrossed in a good book, I read a chapter and then do some work for ½ hour. Then read another chapter and do some more work. This is the perfect book for that. Flight Patterns keeps your interest but gives you a good stopping point. Enjoy.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! One of Karen White's finest! If you like stories about families and secrets set in the south, you'll enjoy this one.
