This book was so tiny it could almost be called "cute". The dress thing on the cover confused me for a long time until I actually read it... which solved the problem. My friend apparently didn't like how Alice was portrayed as older, because "she slayed the Jabberwock at eight years old" so obviously she had to do greater things when she was older. Personally, I like the change because it signifies Alice's maturing and the changes now that she would be older. A potential suitor? A stable family? Nope, our dear protagonist wants none of that, despite her mother's protests. Unsurprisingly, she dives into Wonderland again, only to find that Time is indeed, an issue.
