Nameless was an odd read for me. I went in expecting a story about saving the world from a giant asteroid, but with magic instead of mere technology. The book starts off that way, but around the 1/3rd mark, it turns into what I can only call a 'psychedelic cerebral horror'. It was hard to gauge what was actually 'happening', or if any of it was by the end of the story due to the constant time shifts. While I'm usually a huge fan of everything Grant Morrison does, and this was certainly a new type of story, the overall tale just wasn't for me. Because it had very good artwork, and was something 'out of the box', I would feel bad giving it any less than 3 stars.

Quite unusual way to tell a story, but I liked the visuals very much.

It is a complicated 'what's real/descending into madness' plot which borrows heavily from Lovecraft.

If it was possible to hide my eyes while reading this, I would have. This is a hallucinogenic and grotesque nightmare of a book that still manages to be compelling throughout.

It's not a selling feature, in my mind, when the plot is so complicated (convoluted?) that you need a detailed guide at the end to help you try to piece together what actually happened in the book...
