The book's narrator is Jin, a boy who lives in China and conversationally introduces himself and shares his typical day. The narrative covers geography, history, and culture. I read the book aloud to my son, who is almost four. The illustrations and narrative kept him engaged, but I would consider the book more appropriate an older child unless your child has existing interest in China and travel.
