For anyone who has ever wanted a puppy, the DOG DIARIES series tells a dog's story in a new way--from a dog's point of view! Focusing on a different breed for each book, starting with a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd, these stories are based on true dog stories or on true-to-life situations. With realistic black-and-white illustrations by renowned illustrator Tim Jessel and an factual appendix, dog-loving early chapter book readers willnbsp; beg nbsp;for more!

A German shepherd--the first dog trained at Dorothy Eustis's famous Seeing Eye guide-dog school for the blind--looks back at her life. Chosen for her intelligence, obedience, and willingness to learn, Kiss knows there is more to life than chasing balls and chewing bones. She is a Noble Creature and Great Things await her. But after spending months learing to take care of her beloved trainer Jack, why does he suddenly want her to take care of Morris--a strange, clumsy man who wants to wants to change her name to Buddy? Could it be that nbsp;Morris needs Kiss to take care of him even more than Jack did?

Based on a true story, the appendix has facts about German shepherds, the history and training of guide dogs, hosting guide-dog puppies, and much more.

I love the book Buddy and Kate Klimo which is the author. But, the dog WAS a little self absorbed when he said: "they are not destined for great things like us" and " because we
are German Shepherds" Buddy also bragged a lot more than that. Ginger was a GREAT book by Kate Klimo and I personally liked that book better. I'm placing holds for many of her other books and will get back to you on those. For horse and animal lovers, Darcy and Koda are two great books, even though they are not by Kate Klimo I still like them.

This book interested me, but when I first started it, the book wasn't very interesting. With the books that Kate Klimo wrote, Dog Diaries, that's what they're all like, after a while, and you actually get through the book, about half way, it's very cool, I like how in Dog Diaries, Kate makes all of the books have different jobs for the dogs, I am starting another Dog Diaries, Buddy was a helper that helped bind people get to places, and the new one that I'm reading, the dog is a sled dog!

This book is an amazing story written in a dog's point of view, it was awesome knowing how the dog felt through out the journey!

Excellent sequel to ‘Ginger,’ book one; recommended for very young readers, especially dog lovers. On par with other great books for children like Betsy Byars ‘My Dog My Hero,’ except that this is a dog’s life taken from their perspective. Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.
