I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It tells the story about a less-glamorous, but overly dangerous campaign. Not to denigrate the Marines, but the Army Joes also fought and died during the Pacific Campaign. And it was very interesting reading about how the Army pilots and crews came up with some amazing techniques, skip-bombing in particular, that helped cripple the Japanese trying to reinforce and resupply their bases along the New Guinea coast.
