I am a big Jonathon Kellerman fan but I was very disappointed in this book and stopped reading it halfway through.
Not up to Kellerman's usual. This story goes all over the place and the theme seems very similar to a prior novel he wrote. It is full of material that has no relationship to the story line.
Maybe he had to fulfill a contract and this book is the result.

Pretty disappointed with this one. Really, I'm very disappointed. It never caught my attention, it didn't have any suspense to speak of, there wasn't the human quality and the humor and attention to detail that I've found in the other Kellerman books. I'm finishing it only because I'm nearly done. And I'm glad about that.

I love Jonathan Kellerman but this was not one of his best. I found it very slow moving and rather drawn out. This is the first book I have struggled to read. I will be waiting for his next book none the less.

I eagerly waited my turn for this new Kellerman read- but I was really disappointed! This is the first one that I did not enjoy. Slow story...

I am a fan but this one was not one of his best. Unconvincing.

I love Kellerman but this one was not up to his usual wonderful, suspenseful stories.

For sheer ingenuity, Jonathan Kellerman's investigative crime novels are hard to beat. Heartbreak Hotel is no exception. I enjoyed his writing style and the irony.

I am a big Kellerman fan and always love his books but this was his best ever. Hated to have it end. J

I am a big Jonathan Kellerman / Alex Delaware fan and this one does not disappoint. Interesting throw-back kind of story beginning with a nearly 100-year old client for Alex. Given he's a child psychologist (and part-time police department employee), this gets the book off to a strange start. Lots of twists and turns from there. Lots and lots of gumshoe work with interesting insights into investigative work. Great read. Enjoy!
