Another very good book from Carla Neggers. When Quinn Harlowe's friend Alicia Miller, comes to her for help, before Quinn could stop her she ran away. Later Quinn finds her dead outside of her cottage. Quinn cannot and will not stop searching for answers to why Alicia came to her and what happened to her. When she discovered Alicia's body and screamed for help, Huck McCabe comes to her aide. He is working as a bodyguard at Breakwater, a high-security compound near Quinn. She finds out he is an undercover agent and even against all his warnings, she will not back off. The sparks are flying between them and he doesn't want to see her get hurt. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
