Nev, the prince of Dracorte, is sent on a mission to convince Qole to return to his home planet. Nev believes that Qole is the key to finding out how to make Shadow a stable and reliable energy source. Qole is the youngest ever captain of a ship, and she has dangerous powers that have developed from her time spent fishing for Shadow. Before Nev can convince Qole to join him, many rival royal families are now determined to get their hands on Qole’s abilities as well. Now Qole must trust Nev, the person that got her into this quagmire, in order to protect her crew, as well as help Alaxak, her home planet.  I was so excited when I got my hands on this book. Unfortunately, as a result of the anticlimactic ending, lack of romance and poor character development, I was thoroughly disappointed. I do not plan on reading the sequel to this book.
