Naughty librarian alert! This is *adult* graphic novel is hilariously cheeky & strange. There's no accounting for taste, so read at your own risk.

Two social rejects use their incredible powers (when they have sex, time literally stops) to rob banks and get back at those who've wronged them. Good for readers looking for part absurd science fiction, part candid human connection tale, and a good laugh.

Ha! Awesome!

A wonderful kick-off to the series with wonderful and relatable characters. The premise is a bit off the wall, but it makes it unique and fun.

Enjoyable, colorful, and probably destined to offend plenty of people, yet there is really nothing "bad" in it. I didn't feel as engaged with Sex Criminals as I did with the other Matt Fraction comic I've read (Hawkeye--so good!), but it's fun and has enough substance to keep you hooked.

Definitely a strange premise and pretty graphic, but it was an entertaining romp and very short (which my goodreads challenge loved!). I'd read the next in the series, I think.

A surreal sex positive romp of a comic. Looking forward to Volume 2!

I very much enjoyed this comic great story about two lovers finding their way sexually in life. Something that everyone has to do but modern society makes it very hard for most teens to express themselves and learn about sex this is a great comic looking into their to lives. 5/5 recommend for 17+

I did not enjoy this book. I was expecting a graphic novel not a comic book serial (I'm not a comic fan). It was really graphic... like really. And it wasn't even the sex that was the problem; it was all the porn in the background. It became very overwhelming... like when you eat too much cake and feel sick but people just keep shoving cake in your face.

Suzie always thought she was unique. When she orgasms, Suzie stops time. Then she met Jon, who experiences the same phenomenon. After numerous humorous and sexy encounters, they fall in love. The duo decide to use their powers for the obvious thing. They rob banks. It’s then that Suzie and Jon learn they aren’t as unique as they once thought.

Fraction, well known for his excellent, quirky takes on Hawkeye, largely tackles the potentially controversial proceedings with aplomb, skill, and laughter. Zdarsky’s often surreal illustrations mesh effortlessly with the writing. Initially recalling the romantic elements of Ken Grimwood’s classic novel Replay, Sex Criminals Volume One: One Weird Trick sadly stumbles during its final third with the inclusion of stereotypical comic book tropes.
