"Lovable Sulley (John Goodman) and his wisecracking sidekick Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the scream-processing factory in Monstropolis. When a little girl named Boo wanders into their world, it's the monsters who are scared silly, and it's up to Sulley and Mike to keep her out of sight and get her back home." -- Back of container.

Set in the make-believe world of Monstropolis, where everyone's a literal monster (but usually a nice monster), we find that this urban centre's electrical power is generated from harnessing the screams of human children who are, nightly, scared out of their wits by the hideous, growling creatures who emerge, like demons, from out of their darkened, bedroom closets.

For the most part, I enjoyed "Monsters, Inc." and found it to be quite imaginative as it told its cute, little tale of forbidden friendship and defying authority.

I get what Pixar was trying to do here, but the ending is where it lost me. I feel like a much more practical segue would've been monsters transitioning into imaginary friends.

I liked this cartoon DVD. The graphics were well done. The story is strong. It is good for all ages. However, some scenes may be too scary for young kids. Monster, Inc is the sequel for Monster University. I recommend watching them in the proper order. Previously: Rivals become friends instead of foes. Together they keep evil under control with the love and good intentions. Now: They learn that love and laughter is stronger than fear and screams. They save a child from danger.

The innocent young Giselle is banished to the real world on her wedding day, after the evil stepmother prevents her from marrying her Prince Charming, Edward. Left alone in New York City with no one else, friendly Robert comes to her aid and brings her back to his home with him and his daughter. Although he is planning to propose to his girlfriend very soon, Giselle finds a way into his life. This cute, charming, and uplifting film shows the importance of love and being open to finding it. I would rate this cute story 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to hopeless romantics everywhere. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library

This movies follows a young girl named Boo as she enters a world in which no child has ever seen before. James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski are top scarers, and know everything about scaring children under their beds and in the closet at night. But, after a little girl named Boo doesn’t get scared, she ends up in the mysterious monster world that only exists within a child’s nightmares. This movie shows that looks can be deceiving and that humanity exists everywhere. I would rate this film 4/5 stars for its adorable plot and funny moments, and would recommend it to anyone who has ever had monsters under their bed. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library

Truly a Pixar classic. A little girl escapes the real world and into a monster world, where the screams of children are used to power the city. The plot is straight forward, but somehow the characters are so complex for a children's movie, making it equally loved by parents. The comedy is prime, the animation is stellar, ad the voice actors match the characters perfectly. Not one thing is out of place for Monsters, Inc., making it easily my favourite children's movie.

Sulley: No.

Mike: How about Wet Dog?

Sulley: Yep. Stink it up.

Henry J. Waternoose: There's nothing more toxic or deadly than a human child. A single touch could kill you. Leave a door open, and one can walk right into this factory; right into the monster world.
Trainee: I won't go into a kid's room. You can't make me.

Monsters generate their city's power by scaring children, but they are terribly afraid themselves of being contaminated by children, so when one enters Monstropolis, top scarer Sulley finds his world disrupted.
