Not really my type of book. And I didn't quite enjoy the ending, but i liked Sarah being a strong female lead.

A gripping account of two siblings caught up in the spiderweb of a Mexican drug cartel, each in a different way. Hard, gritty, deadly circumstances. Desperate decisions. Intensely real and believable, both characters and their lives. An excellent read.

I really enjoyed this book, it really showed the perspective of people who live in the rural parts of Mexico. This novel helped me open my eyes and see whats really going on around the world. This story was very interesting and kept me engaged the whole time. Especially near the end of the book I could stop reading it. It was very suspenseful at some parts and it really kept you wondering what was going to happen. I also felt that the characters were really well developed and throughout the novel you really start to fall in love with the characters. Overall I really loved this book and I would definitely recommend it.

A story of persistence, risks, soul-searching, friend-finding, and justice. After Sara's friend disappeared, which almost seems to be a normal occurrence lately, Sara feels that Linda is still out there waiting to be found. Sara is persistent and will not let it go. She continuously writes stories that are published about the girls. When threats begin to come in, Sara has to make a tough decision that not only affects her, but her mother and brother, Emiliano, as well. Emiliano wants to have the good life and good girlfriend but she is rich. The only way he is going to get her is to get money. Emiliano currently sells crafts to make some cash for himself and for those that make the crafts. When Emiliano is offered a job doing something he knows is illegal, he has to make some tough decisions himself. A little slow to get started but hang in there because when the action begins, it is good. Tough subject but well worth the read.

Life's too short to waste valuable energy on imbeciles. Anger is energy, and energy needs to be carefully preserved, like water on a three-day desert hike.

The decision to act against evil is not measured by the impact it has on the evil but by the impact it has on the person who acts.
