This is a bit of a change of pace for Sarah MacLean -- she leaves behind the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair and instead descends into the criminal underworld -- but all the hallmarks of a Sarah MacLean book are here: a strong, independent heroine who is discovering her own strength; a hero who seems like a domineering ass who is about to be totally brought to his knees by a woman; and supporting characters who are absolutely crying out to have their stories told. (This is the first in a trilogy, so I suspect that last issue will be resolved with a teensy bit of patience.)

So good, I wished I hadn't read it, because now I have to wait even longer for the next one ::weeps::
