The book [and thus audio] is lightweight and short [approx 8 hours].
I recommend getting this in book form, instead of audio....assuming the book has lots of pictures. I had a hard time remembering which woman was which, and know that if I had the book, when each one was described, I would look at her photo and put a face with a name and husband.
And just when I thought I got to know who was who on a high level, in comes more wives.
Side Note: The author really doesn't like LBJ. I sure wish political bias was taken out of books, especially when the commentary doesn't have any thing to do with the topic of the book. [AND odd since LBJ was a supporter of NASA programs.]
I enjoy history but it would have been much more interesting if told from the point of view of one astronaut's wife instead of trying to cover all of them.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm not one who typically enjoys science, but it was interesting to hear about how the wives of astronauts lived and what they went through as their husbands went into space.
