This book is very pedestrian in its writing craft. Far too many implausibilities and seemingly impossible plot twists without any explanation of how they occur or what effect they may have had.

The saving grace of this book is its premise: What would happen if people with a great deal of money and power made a business plan to take over a state and secede it from the United States? Secessionist groups tend to be big on rhetoric, but short on business acumen, funding, or planning. How dangerous and successful might a coordinated, well-funded, intricately planned, perfectly located, well-armed group actually be? Although the fictional group here falls apart at the first real sign of resistance, the question asked by this book remains a good one.
