If I could give this a dozen stars, I would! So many lovely twists, such poetry in the writing, and the reader is outstanding. I liked this so much that I checked it out twice just to hear it again.

Neil Gaiman is a master storyteller and Stardust is a delightfully imaginative adult fairy tale. I recommend listening to the audiobook as Gaiman narrates it himself, which adds to its charm. Journey to the land of Faerie for a fantastic (and quick) escape from reality.

Neil has a vivid imagination. Loved the book.

This is my first time "reading" just the prose version of this story (having read the graphic version several times), and hearing it in Neil's voice added quite a bit to the story.

To the uninitiated, this is a "fairy tale for adults" with all of the usual tropes (witches, pirates, talking animals, magical beings, etc) but told in Neil's inimitable style.

Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed loosing myself in this book. I was swept from my living room into an exotic world of magic, love, deception, and following your own reality.

A really great book.

For those that've seen the movie- the book is much more bittersweet, and more "adult", but it's excellent.

A fairytale about a young man's quest to find a fallen star for his lady love in hopes of winning her heart. Along the way he meets magical creatures and witches with attitude and there are a few ghosts in the mix as well. It's a fairytale for adults, but could be read to children if the sexy bits were left out.

She says nothing at all, but simply stares upward into the dark sky and watches, with sad eyes, the slow dance of the infinite stars.

Without our stories we are incomplete.
