I have read and enjoyed many Mo Willems picture books, but this one was a completely unexpected pleasure. This beautifully illustrated book is about the transformative effect and power of music and also about how lives can be unexpectedly and magically changed for the better. This book was also a tribute to persistence, dedication, passion and teamwork. This wasn't a funny story like the Elephant and Piggie books at all, but instead it was a lovely, inspiring story about music. Truly it was a joy to read this lovely book. Highly recommended.

Sweet and moving. If you're like me and can't read sheet music, hear The Cold by Hilary Purrington here:
