.
It was good except for the rampant commercialization in the middle third.

Because this is a Disney film, the digital rights management made it virtually unplayable on a PC. Maybe if you have a DVD player, it will work. Otherwise, don't waste your time. I made it seven minutes in before it pretty much shut down.

Many Disney movies have a tendency to do this. I still haven't seen Star Wars Rogue One because of this issue. Other Disney DVDs have the same problem. It's not worth the grief, frankly.

I will say, I was not as big a fan of this as I'd hoped to be. While exploring the internet was a good step as far as writing a plot was concerned, I think there might have been just too big of a jump in time, as well as too much internet that they tried to cover in a film. "Wreck-It Ralph" told of a bad guy in an 80s game who was tired of being unappreciated and cast out of society. He finds a friend in another video game misfit. The two explore video games that were popular during the arcade years. It was a nice, controlled environment, with room to develop. Have you seen the Internet? All kinds of stuff is out there!

The lack of consistency as far as the rules of a video game character let me scratching my head, the overwhelmingly troped characters of Ralph and Vanellope was nauseating, and the story was just all over the place. If anything, I did enjoy some of the memes down memory lane. All in all, "Ralph Breaks the Internet" was less "Wreck-It Ralph," and way more "The Emoji Movie": a sad attempt at connecting with the younger generation, even though the material could have been WAY stronger.

TL;DR: The movie was "Enh." "Ralph Breaks the Internet" should've been "Ralph Wrecks the Internet." Also, I think this would've worked better as a graphic novel series, like "Kingdom Hearts" or "Kilalah Princess." 2.5 Stars.
