Miles Morales is the new Spider-Man but must also walk the balance between his personal high school & family life and his life as a superhero. While being Spider-Man, he becomes familiar with the Spider-Verse, where there are endless variations on Spider-Man. One of the Spider-Man variations living inside the Spider-Verse is Spider-Man, Peter Parker, who guides Miles in his journey as the new Spider-Man and introduces him to the multitude of other Spider-Men, including Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham. All of the various Spider-Men will have to band together when villains threaten the safety of the Spider-Verse and of the world itself.

I really didn't enjoy this. I know it was supposed to be cartoony but I found everything way too weird. Some parts were quite funny, but overall it wasn't for me.

The animation is amazing. The story though... on the surface, yeah sure it’s Spider-Man but it sort of goes through the cliched plot of every Pixar movie I’ve ever seen. It’s a successful formula, don’t get me wrong but I’m kinda tired of it.

What makes Spider-Man ‘Spider-Man’ is it’s Charlie Brown with super powers. I don’t care if the character is male, female, a different race or LGBTQ, if it strays from that, it’s not Spider-Man. Things get messy. They should get real messy. Even if the character gets it right, there’s always some sort of consequence to his or her decision. None of that is in this film.

There was so much right with this. Into the Spider-verse definitely lived up to the hype and I'm now wishing I'd gone to see it in theaters. The soundtrack was amazing. The animation style - including all the differences when the different Spider-People came together - was unlike anything I've seen before. I found myself getting lost in analyzing how cool the animation was quite frequently. And true to Spider-Man, I found myself legitimately laughing out loud. Seriously good Spider-Man movie.

A hip-hop Spiderman, with animated graffiti art and a rap soundtrack. Lots of fun! (I say that, knowing full well that hip-hop is a movement that's about a lot more than just "fun".) The plot gets a bit muddled (what exactly is Kingpin hoping to accomplish with that giant particle accelerator, anyway?) but the characterizations of the main characters are well-rounded, and the animation is cutting edge. In fact the animation is cutting in several edges; different styles of animation are mixed (some don't even appear until halfway through the movie). Yet it has the feel of a comic book. (Or several comic books; this is the multiverse, after all.) Various pop-culture references ("Easter eggs") are thrown in for humor and recognition (there may be several Spiderpeople in this alternate dimension but there's still THAT!). Many of these go by so quickly that you have to watch it again to catch them (the Hitchhikkers Guide to the Galaxy ones are obvious, but kudos if you notice the Banksy). And, like the greatest superhero movies, it doesn't take itself too seriously. Thoroughly enjoyable. ...And I should mention that the title might be a pun; it's a spidery part of the multiverse, yes, but is it also a realm of poetry, at least in the soundtrack?

The animation is amazing. It's like watching a comic book, with the text blocks and perspective changes and boxed shots, etc. Frankly, the story and the ending were a bit convoluted for me, but the view was magnificent. If for no other reason, this movie is worth checking out for the smart visual delight of it all!

That was great! Beautiful animation, great characters, great references, funny moments, poignant moments, and just... wow! Loved it and could not recommend it enough.

Taking animation to new heights, Into the Spider-verse combines bright colors, jagged lines, and multiple animation styles in a way that makes it truly feel like a comic book brought to life. Story line is solid, and promotes the underlying message that anyone can make a difference and be a hero, anyone could be Spider-man.

Hands down my favorite movie of the last five years. I loved it so much, I saw it 3 times in theaters
