I ADORED THIS BOOK. And I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about it.

I was recently watching a video about the rules Disney cast members (specifically the princesses) have to follow. And it made me wonder about what they’d have to do in harassing/awkward situations. This book explores that darker question at times. In this book’s park, The Kingdom, the princesses (Fantasists) are expected to make every wish come true and do whatever it takes to provide a magical experience to the guests. Once again, that sometimes dips towards really dark things.

The Kingdom takes a setting like Disneyland (with a hint of Jurassic Park hybrids), pairs it with the dark and abusive secrets of Sea World (think Blackfish documentary), and has lovely writing and wonderful characters. It also alternated between normal chapters and transcripts/“the Kingdom” promo stuff (like the princess’s songs and stuff) which really enhanced the overall reading experience. I rarely buy books I read from the library but I’m totally buying this one.

It was so hard to put down and such a quick read. PLEASE READ THIS!
