i want to see the world in the 1930s
Great book I loved it when the twist came when cam Mooses dad got stabbed
Moose is a strong character all the way through the three-book series. The reader really gets a sense of what it would have been like to live on Alcatraz in the mid-1930s. Another winner from Choldenko!
Thirteen-year-old Moose's report on FDR is missing, then reappears with a coded message from Al Capone.
The setting of guard families living on Alcatraz is still as fascinating in this third book in the series. But the first, "Al Capone Does My Shirts," is the strongest. So definitely start there. For readers 9 and up.
