As the only daughter of the leader of Potomac, Selah knows her duty is to find a partner who will help secure the future of her people. After an excruciatingly public rejection, Selah's stepmother suggests Selah must set sail across the Atlantic, where a series of potential suitors awaits... and if she doesn't come home engaged, she shouldn't come home at all. From English castle gardens to the fjords of Norge, Selah's quest will be the journey of a lifetime. But her stepmother's schemes aren't the only secrets hiding below deck... and the stakes of her voyage may be higher than any happy ending. -- adapted from jacket.

Oh my word! If you are considering reading this book: Stop your contemplating and open it up!!
You will be taken into a world that feels so real... that brings things out in you that you didn't even know where there. It will make you feel thinks so true in your life that were always staring at you and you had no idea existed. As I fell into this world, this book opened up my reality.
To think about reviewing this books so many things pop to mind and I don't have enough room to say them all. This is the best read that I have read in years! I thought it was going to be a naive little girl set off to find a suiter and be a half best story... instead a world was created. A woman was found, a man was shone how a man should be, and a love was created. When I finished this book all I wanted was more. I read it three times in a row back to back wishing, wanting to be in the world of Selah and Torden.

I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book (sadly I have a year).

Selah experiences all kinds of misunderstandings and humiliations, but she just keeps growing. I love how being forced to go look for a husband actually helps her discover who she really is. I'm anxious to read the next installment!

A Must-Read Young Adult pick. Selah must set sail across the Atlantic to visit a series of potential suitors—and if she doesn't come home engaged, she shouldn't come home at all. Lush landscapes, dazzling romance, and captivating intrigue await in this stunning alternate historical YA debut, perfect for fans of “The Selection” or “Caraval.”
