This book, and the series itself, is an increadible feat of ingenuity and prose. Even though I am at the college level and this book is mostly for teens, I find myself blown away by the originality in usuing all those old legends. Incorporating aspects of arthurian legend, real-world history, and various other myths has been done various times on lesser scales, but this book takes everything and adds it all up in a coherent manner. I have to agree that if one is not well versed in their myths, legends and even children's stories a lot of the novels will seem confusing, but if one has a firm grasp of these things, like i have since i have alwasy been interesting is such things, then this book is a gateway to a world larger than that created by J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series. To summerize: this book and the others in the series are awsome!!!!!
