I like Krueger's Cork O'Connor books. MANITOU CANYON is another great read which is a well plotted and suspenseful. He does a great job of juxtaposing multiple, complex underlying themes: rural living (especially in northern climates), Native American and white man interactions, environmental and ecological issues, and the increasingly present and important matter of values related to money and the degree to which we as a society are willing to let the short term pursuit of money trump the long term strategies and decisions that need to be made to secure a safer, livable world.
