I have been a devoted viewer of this series from Season One, but the mysteries seem to be overshadowed heavily by feminist and feminine focused topics this season. I can appreciate the Suffragettes being in context as an era appropriate issue, but the lesbianism was, frankly, bizarre, and of zero relevance, in my arrogant male opinion, to a Victorian detective series. And hypothetically on the flipside so too would, say, Crabtree and Higgins locking lips. Just completely thrown in there for what? Shock value? Still love the premise of the show, and the cast, and I will definitely continue on with it.
