Life is about choices. How do you know if you're making the right choice? What would have happened if you chose differently? You can drive yourself crazy wondering "what if" but ultimately, you'll never know. I think these questions plague everyone at some point in their lives, which is why I was drawn into Lucy's story. The Light We Lost is told through Lucy's point of view and I think the author did an amazing job conveying her inner demons. I don't agree with all the decisions Lucy made, but I could understand how she got there. The most emotional part of the story for me, was when Lucy and Gabe broke up. Knowing full well what was about to happen, I still had hope, like Lucy, that things would work out for the two of them and I felt truly torn as her world came crashing down. I didn't feel that same chemistry between Lucy and Darren; because they're together for the majority of the story, I slowly lost interest. I wish there would have been a major twist at the end, but it turned out to be rather predictable from the beginning and left a few things unanswered. I experienced all the emotions with this one, but was still hoping for a little more. Overall, I'm glad I read it.
