The book follows the main character, Dominique who buses with her classmates from New Jersey to New York to Carnegie Hall to see a concert. There, Dom is swept by the soaring music, and by the boy in the front row: the boy with the wild black hair, playing the violin like the world’s most beautiful madman. With the help of her best friend, Dom sneaks back to New York to find this boy, Ben Tristan, one of the most gifted musicians of his generation. Soon Ben sweeps Dom into a new world of jazz clubs and opera, but Dom is posing as someone she is not...and Ben’s obsessive playing conceals a darker truth that may tear them apart. This book is very well written and will surely make you route for Dominique and Ben like they’re your best friends. This book starts with a slow moving story but it finishes so fast you don’t even realize you’re done the book!
